HOW IT WORKS

At Blueprint One, the process starts with a one-on-one consultation with a Blueprint One Specialist who will review your property, discuss your project goals, and help determine which solution custom design or one of our ECO Series models fits best. From there, your project will through our proven Pre-Construction Services, ensuring your project moves forward smoothly, on budget, and on time.


Our streamlined approach takes you through four major phases: Start & Onboarding - Feasibility, Design, Plan Submission, and Plan Approval. During the onboarding - feasibility phase, we collect property information, verify zoning requirements, and set expectations with clear timelines. 


In the Design phase, you’ll collaborate with our architectural team and interior designer to create your floor plan or purchase a full complete plan set that fits your need and budget, while structural engineering, Title 24 energy compliance, and utility planning are coordinated in the background. This ensures your project design is not only beautiful but also compliant with California building codes.


Once the design is complete, we move into the Plan Submission phase, where our team prepares and submits your plans directly to the city or county. We handle corrections, revisions, and communication with local municipalities to keep your project moving. 


Finally, during Plan Approval, your project receives the official green light, clearing the way for construction to begin. With Blueprint One managing every step, you can expect an efficient, transparent process that reduces stress and gets your ADU project from concept to permit in as little as 90–120 days, depending on jurisdiction.

ONBOARD - FEASIBILITY

During onboarding and feasibility, you’ll meet with a Blueprint One Specialist who will review your property details, confirm zoning and setback requirements, and outline a clear project roadmap. This phase sets expectations, timelines, and ensures all preliminary information is gathered to move your project forward smoothly.

DESIGN

In the design phase, our architectural team and interior designer work with you to bring your design vision to life. Structural engineering, Title 24 energy compliance, and utility planning are completed in parallel, ensuring your plans are both beautiful and fully compliant with California building codes

PLAN SUBMISSION

PLAN SUBMISSION

Once your design is finalized, we prepare and submit your plans directly to the city or county for review. Our team manages the submittal process, responds to plan check corrections, and ensures all required documents are completed to keep your project moving forward without delays.

PLAN SUBMISSION

The final phase is receiving official plan approval from the city or county, giving your project the green light to begin construction. With permits in hand, you’ll be ready to move seamlessly into the build phase knowing every detail has been managed by our team.

GC ASSIGNMENT

After approval, the jurisdiction will issue your building permit. Please note: the permit issuance fee is separate from our services and is the customer’s responsibility to pay directly to the city or county. Once the permit is issued, your project is fully cleared to begin construction.

Your project will be assigned to one of our vetted General Contractors upon your approval. All construction contracts and payment arrangements will be managed directly with the approved GC, with payments made by you to the General Contractor.
